I know this is not ios related, but super cool regardless…The Ucreate Digital Music by Mattel. Mix up samples, beats, and loops, iPod connectivity – there is the ios tie-in – and a bunch of effects, for next to nothing. Looks like it has been out for a while, don’t know how I missed this. I think you can get them on Amazon for about $20! Great reviews, and tons of videos on Youtube as well. Great gift for the holidays.
I bought one of these for my son last year (he was 5 then) and he LOVES it. In a house where there are audio making gadgets everywhere he’s really proud to have one of his own (though he’s now taken possession of the 3GS at this point).
